this post, i am going to show you a trick on how to resume expired,
Broken download in idm when it fails. The need to resume session expired
download in idm is really necessary because it could be frustrating
after getting stuck in the middle of completing your downloaded file and
when trying to resume the broken download in idm, you saw a message
saying your download of the file has expired.
The issue is not from internet Download Manager ( IDM ) Software but rather from the website you are downloading the file from. This is because some website have time limit as to when you are allowed to download the file completely, either to save bandwidth or to urge you into buying any of their subscription plans that allows you to resume broken downloads in idm or any other download manager.

most of the trick i have seen on this same issue involves you messing around with your registry files which might end up hurting your system if you are not careful with the registry file. If you mistakenly delete an important registry file, you computer might malfunction, so if don't want such to happen, then this trick i am about to show you is the most simplest and effective.
How To Resume Broken/expired Download in IDM.
When you are stuck with expired download session, don't panic. Just follow the steps below
==> open your idm and scroll to the download that is refusing to resume
==> right click on it and then click on Refresh Download option
==> it will open the download link in your web browser and also display a stop Waiting Button. Just click the stop waiting button and check the opened link in your browser.
==> in most cases, you should see the link where you were downloading the file from. But in rare cases, the site may display Expired message too, which means the download has expired but don't panic.
Whichever the case may be, just make sure you are able to get the same direct link to the site you were download the file from.
==> after visiting the download link on your browser. Try to re-download it again by clicking the download button on the site.
==> it should pop up idm as usual but don't click on the download button when it pops up internet download manager IDM. Just scroll up on the idm pop up. Look for the option box called URL. You will see the direct download link of the file. Copy the link and paste on notepad. Then click the cancel button on the idm pop up window to cancel the download so it won't appear inside your idm dashboard since we are not re-downloading it from the beginning.
We only need the new generated direct download link which will shall use for the trick to work. So since you've copied the new generated download link from the idm pop up dialog window.
==> Now open your idm download manager and scroll to the downloaded file that is refusing to resume.
==> Right click on it and then scroll down, click on properly
==> now in the property window, you will see box option called Address. Remove all the link in that box and replace it with the one you've copied to notepad.then click OK button
now try to resume it again. It will start downloading the file from where it stopped without you getting that expired download session in idm.
